Town of North Hempstead Annual Recycled Art Contest

As school begins, it is important to remind each student about the importance of recycling and what better way than to invite them to use their creativity to promote recycling in their school and in their community? Our focus is to with the Town of North Hempstead Recycled Art Contest is to spread the powerful message of recycle, reuse and rethink. 

Students of all age levels have the opportunity to succeed. Grades K-12 in participating Town of North Hempstead School Recycling Partnership Program School Districts are welcome to participate in the contest. The opportunities are endless. Each student must use recyclable materials. Metals, paper, rubber, plastic or cloth (NO GLASS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS PLEASE). 

Entries are judged by the North Hempstead Arts Advisory Committee. This year, the winners of the Recycled Artwork Contest will be honored at the Platinum LEED-Certified "Yes We Can" Community Center in Westbury at a special ceremony and all entries are displayed for one month in the gallery at the "Yes We Can" Community Center.

The Recycled Art Contest is one of our most exciting events of the year with hundreds of incredible projects and over 1,000 students participating over the years!
