Councilwoman Poons Congratulates Local Scout for Creation of New Nature Trail
Manhasset, NY—Councilwoman Maria Christina Poons congratulated Life Scout Brad Greaves last Thursday, August 13 on his extraordinary effort and dedication to his local community for the successful completion of his Eagle project—the creation of a new nature trail at Whitney Pond Park in Manhasset.
“Brad’s selfless efforts at creating the new nature trail serves as a reminder to all residents that the love for ones community can lead to lasting change,” said Councilwoman Poons. “I want to also thank Troop 97 for helping accomplish Brad’s vision and I hope residents will come to Whitney Pond Park and enjoy a relaxing walk in the woods.”
His vision before the project was lofty yet attainable explained Life Scout Brad Greaves, “Whitney Pond can become a great place for all of us to use if we just had the aspiration to rebuild the community by first fixing it up.”
Whitney Pond Park is located at 1 Community Drive in Manhasset. With brand new playground equipment and backboards installed in July, coupled with existing tennis courts, basketball, handball and paddleball courts, the brand new nature trail will be a welcome compliment to an already impressive list of amenities, Poons stated.
