Supervisor Jon Kaiman Welcomes Interns to Town Hall

Manhasset, NY—Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman recently welcomed and honored the Town’s 2009 summer interns at a breakfast at Town Hall.  Nearly two dozen students attended the breakfast, which allowed students to network with elected officials, department heads and members of the Supervisor’s staff.

Supervisor Jon Kaiman said “the Town of North Hempstead Internship Program not only offers an upfront view of government at work, but also provides hands-on experience for students.

Councilman Robert Troiano added, “The Town strives to engage students’ capacity for rigorous analysis and independent thought within a wide range of experiences and endeavors.”

Students have the chance to work at Town Hall or at the many multiple institutions and buildings spread throughout the Town.  Students who participate in the Program typically alternate periods of part-time work with periods of full-time study.

The Town of North Hempstead continues its commitment to extending equal opportunity to all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national or ethnic origin, physical or mental disability, martial or veteran status in the conduct and operation of its programs and activities, including admission and employment.
