TONH To Hold FamilyFest This Weekend

Port Washington, NY—Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board are proud to announce that North Hempstead’s end of summer bash—Family Fest 2009—will be held this weekend North Hempstead Beach Park on September 13.  FamilyFest kicks off at 12 noon and ends at 5:00pm with family activities including kayaking, wildlife presentations, sandcastle building, arts and crafts, kite flying, circle drumming, food, give-aways and much more.

“We hope all residents throughout the Town come out and enjoy one last day on the beach this Sunday!” said Supervisor Kaiman. “It’s a great day to spend with your family and friends and hope you come out and join us for the fun.”

FamilyFest offers great music and entertainment by the likes of reggae artist Dentzel Botus, award-wining double-dutch jump ropers, Jumpers in Command, Bruce Springsteen tribute band Tramps Like Us, and the featured ensemble playing fabulous music from the 60’s and 70’s, The Happenings.

The 2009 FamilyFest is brought to you by the Town of North Hempstead in partnership with the Town’s Business and Tourism Development Corporation, the Department of Parks and Recreation and generous host of corporate sponsors.

The event is free, but a $5 per vehicle fee will be charged.  Call 311 or (516) 869 6311 for more information.
