Town Announces First Recycled Artwork Contest

North Hempstead, NY—As part of North Hempstead’s School Recycling Partnership Program, students now have the opportunity to enter into the town’s first annual Recycled Artwork Contest announced Supervisor Jon Kaiman.  The winner’s artistic abilities will be showcased at various locations throughout the Town.

“Students are invited to use their creativity to promote recycling in their schools and in their community,” said Supervisor Kaiman.  “I know our talented students will find a way to create masterpieces out of recyclables.”

Entries must use either recycled materials or materials that can be recycled including metals, paper, rubber, plastic or cloth.  Town officials note that no glass is to be used in elementary schools.  The contest is open to all participating Town of North Hempstead School Recycling Partnership Program school districts.  For entry forms and additional information, please visit www.northhempstead.com or call 311 and ask to speak to Fran Reid.
