            Providing 34 acres of sandy beach and recreational activities, North Hempstead Beach Park (formally known as Bar Beach & Hempstead Harbor Parks) includes a promenade for residents who want to walk along the waterfront. A fishing pier, boat ramp, bathhouse and concession area are also available. The park provides basketball and shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, picnic areas with barbecues and shelter pavilions, and a playground. A Sunday Afternoon Summer Concert Series begins July 4 and continues through August 31.

            The 60-acre park sits on a half-mile beachfront property (fee required). It also features court games like basketball, handball and paddleball. Many also enjoy the mile-jogging course, playground and picnic areas. Permits are required for use of the fields and picnic area.   Parking fees apply year-round.
