North Hempstead Announces Second Set of Mobile Evening Office Hours for Building Department

North Hempstead, NY – After a successful first round this past February and March, North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth has announced another set of evening community-based office hours beginning in May. These sessions will give residents the opportunity to meet with the Applicant Advocate, who represents the Supervisor, and our mobile Building Department Unit and have their questions or concerns regarding their Building Department application addressed.

“This service proved to be very useful earlier this year by giving residents a convenient forum to ask questions about a specific permit or a general question about the Building Department,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “By bringing this service right into the community after office hours, it provides greater accessibility for our residents.”

The Applicant Advocate was hired as the Supervisor’s representative at the beginning of January to provide residents with a more customer-friendly experience in the Building Department. The Advocate is tasked with assisting residents in navigating the permit process.

Upcoming Mobile Office Hours will be as follows (all sessions from 6pm to 8pm):

  • Monday, May 5th, Manhasset Public Library, 30 Onderdonk Avenue, Manhasset
  • Tuesday, May 6th, “Yes We Can” Community Center, 141 Garden Street, Westbury
  • Monday, May 12th, Shelter Rock Public Library, 165 Searingtown Road, Albertson
  • Tuesday, May 20th, Port Washington Public Library, 1 Library Drive, Port Washington
  • Wednesday, May 28th, Hillside Public Library, 155 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park
Please bring any relevant information or documentation relating to your Building Department Application.

If you have any questions or would like more information on Mobile Office hours and the Applicant Advocate, please call 311 or (516) 869-6311 when calling from outside the Town.
