Town Hosts Fall Rabies Vaccination Clinic at “Yes We Can” Community Center

North Hempstead, NY – The Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter, in partnership with the Nassau County Department of Health and the Shelter Connection, announced a FREE Rabies Clinic offering vaccinations and dog licensing on Wednesday, October 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the North Hempstead “Yes We Can” Community Center in New Cassel. This is one of two free clinics that the Town hosts each year.

“We are excited to be bringing the rabies vaccination clinic back to the “Yes We Can” Community Center. Our pets are a part of our family and it is vital to ensure that they are vaccinated against rabies,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth.

Free rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats will be available to residents across Long Island and all five boroughs. The Town will be offering dog licenses and renewals on site administered by the North Hempstead Animal Shelter.

Owners must bring dogs on leashes and cats in carriers.

The “Yes We Can” Community Center is located at 141 Garden Street in New Cassel. Those who wish to participate are encouraged to make a reservation. For more information or to RSVP, please call 311 or (516) 869-6311.
