First Ever BeachFeast Hosts Hundreds for a Celebration of Food & Drink

Port Washington, NY – With great weather and hundreds in attendance, the Town of North Hempstead hosted the first ever BeachFeast celebration on September 14th at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington. The food & drink festival marked the final event of the summer season for the Town.

“When we developed this new event, we wanted to create something that our adult residents could enjoy,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “What better way to close out the summer season than with food, drinks and entertainment on the beach?”

Attendees were treated to delicious treats including food from Long Island Festival Caterers, Gino’s Pizza, Gorilla Cheese NYC, Miami Grille, Ponti Rossi, Andy’s Italian Ices & Espresso Bar, Carl’s Steaks, and Mamu Thai Noodles. Booths and food trucks were set up along the boardwalk, allowing visitors easy access to the panoply of choices.

The event also included an assortment of beer and wine. Crooked Ladder Brewing Company brought along a fire truck, complete with thirst quenching beers on tap, and Murphy’s Bar and Grill provided a large selection of wines for attendees to sample.

Music and live entertainment were provided by five different acts that included DJ Kev Dee, Jimmy Kenny and the Pirate Beach Band, That 70’s Band, FiveStone, and Strawberry Fields. The musical selections proved to be a hit with the crowd of festivalgoers.

The event was a success due to the efforts of the Town of North Hempstead’s Departments of Community Services, Public Safety, Highways and Parks and Recreation.
