North Hempstead to Host Popular “Spooky Walk” this October
Children will get special star-gazing opportunity on Oct. 24

North Hempstead, NY – With the summer coming to a close and autumn right around the corner, the Town of North Hempstead is excited to announce the dates for one of the most popular events of the year: Spooky Walk.

Ghosts, ghouls, goblins, swamp monsters and many of their gruesome friends will inhabit the 12-acre park at Clark Botanic Garden on Friday, October 24th, and Saturday, October 25th, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Visitors will be able to experience a smoggy, spine-tingling walk through the realm of fear and fright that will be Clark Botanic Garden. The cost of admission is $5 per person.

On October 24th, telescopes, exhibits and hands-on activities will be provided for star-gazing children by Hofstra University’s Astronomy Outreach Program in partnership with the Amateur Observer’s Society of New York. Equipment is funded through a NASA astronomy outreach grant to Hofstra University and will allow children to see close-up views of the planets, and colorful double stars. Rain date will be October 25th.

Spooky Walk may not be suitable for young children, and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Younger children can enjoy the Not-So-Spooky-Walk on Sunday, October 26th, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Not-So-Spooky-Walk’s price of admission is $3 per person. The event will feature the Red Storm Drum and Dance Troupe as well as plenty of activities for children including pumpkin painting and more!

Featuring more than 12-acres of planted, well-manicured grounds, Clark Botanic Garden, located at 193 I.U. Willets Road in Albertson, is the perfect setting for North Hempstead’s ultra-popular annual Halloween extravaganza.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union will be sponsoring this year's Spooky Walk.
