Whitney Pond Park Pool Registration to Begin on June 9th

North Hempstead, NY – With the summer season about to enter full swing, Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Department of Parks and Recreation are excited to announce that newly renovated Whitney Pond Park Pool will offer seasonal registration for the first time. Registration begins on June 9th.

Whitney Pond Park Pool in Manhasset recently completed Phase 1 of a two part renovation approved in North Hempstead’s five year Capital Plan just in time for the summer rush. This year, the pool was upgraded, hot water heaters and pumps and drains were installed and the pool basin was reinforced.

This year, for the first time, the Department of Parks and Recreation will offer seasonal memberships so residents can enjoy the pool all summer for one flat rate.

Whitney Pond Park Pool is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and offers pool goers lap swimming from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., a main pool, a kiddie pool, and other amenities outside the pool area including handball courts, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Residents can also enjoy walks around Whitney Pond which is encircled with a walking path and benches.

Residents of North Hempstead can register from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, starting June 9th, by visiting Whitney Pond Park Pool on Community Drive in Manhasset. The pool opens June 29th.
