Town of North Hempstead Announces Free Rabies Clinic

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board are proud to announce that the Town’s Animal Shelter will be hosting 2015’s semi-annual free rabies vaccination clinic in conjunction with the Nassau County Department of Health. The clinic will be held at the Yes We Can Community Center in New Cassel, on Wednesday, September 30 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

“Rabies is a preventable viral disease and this free service will allow pet owners to help keep their pets healthy and happy, as well as keep our community safe,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “It is important to keep updated with rabies vaccinations not only for the well-being of our Town but to be proper, law abiding citizens.”

Rabies vaccines are available to dogs and cats, as well as ferrets from around the area, not only from North Hempstead. North Hempstead officials will also offer on-the-spot dog licensing applications and renewals to North Hempstead residents.

Owners must bring their dogs on leashes and their cats in carriers. Officials request that people interested in attending the program RSVP before September 25th.

For more information or to RSVP, please call 311 or (516) 869-6311.
