Town Honors Manhasset Crew for Winning 7 State Titles

Manhasset, NY – The Town of North Hempstead honored the high school-aged boys and girls of the Manhasset Crew team for their incredible accomplishment of taking home seven medals, including five gold, from the New York State Scholastic Rowing Championship on May 11th and 12th in Saratoga Springs.

Friends of Manhasset Crew President Suzanne Mills called the achievement a testament to “hard work and dedication all Fall up until the Championships in the Spring.”

Medals were awarded to nearly four dozen Manhasset Crew team members in seven different events including Girls divisions of Novice 4+, Senior 4+, Lightweight 4+, Novice 8+ and Junior 8+ and Boys divisions of Lightweight 4+, and Junior 8.

Councilwoman Anna Kaplan, whose district encompasses Manhasset, said at the December 10th ceremony at Town Hall, “This Town is special because of hard-working young student-athletes like you.”
