Town Awards Schreiber H.S. Girls Tennis & Boys Volleyball for County Titles

Manhasset, NY – Supervisor John Riordan and members of the Town Board invited the Schreiber High School Girls Tennis Team and Boys Volleyball team to Town Hall on December 10th, and presented them both with Certificates of Recognition for winning the 2013 Nassau County Championships.

The Girls Tennis team defeated Manhasset in the Finals on October 18th to advance to their first Long Island Championship since 2008. The Boys’ Volleyball squad took down top-seeded Massapequa to grab the Nassau Class A Championship on November 6th.

Boys Volleyball Team Captain Benjamin Moy addressed the Town Board and said, “We have a great group of guys here, and got on quite a roll in the playoffs. But throughout the entire season, coach always stressed the importance of having fun and playing with a love for the game.”

Girls Tennis coach Stan Makover talked about the hard work and dedication of his players and how his team has joined a strong group of Girls Tennis powerhouse programs across Nassau County.
