The Town of North Hempstead has currently suspended operations at the resident drop-off facility in Port Washington for the weekends of December 2, 2006 and December 9, 2006.

As an alternative you can contact your local garbage carter to request a special pick-up for a fee to be determined by them. If you do not know who your carter is please call North Hempstead’s Solid Waste Management Authority at (516) 767-4608 and someone can assist you in providing the information.

Beginning Sunday, December 17, resident drop-off operations will continue. Hours will be limited to Sundays with a new rate schedule to be made public on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. In addition, e-waste will be collected on all Sundays that the resident drop-off facility is open. The facility will not be open on Holidays.
