Clark Garden to Hold Seminar on Preparing Roses for Winter

North Hempstead, NY – Town of North Hempstead is pleased to present a FREE, hands-on seminar on preparing your roses for winter at Clark Botanic Garden in Albertson on Friday, December 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Come and work with the Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners as they ready Clark’s Rose Garden for the winter season.

Hands on experience will include:
• Selective pruning of rose bushes
• Securing climbers to their supports
• Practicing good garden hygiene
• Some weeding and removal of spent blooms and annuals

Participants are asked to bring their own tools including clean, sharpened, bypass pruners, a garden bucket and gloves. Please dress for the weather in layers.
