Town’s New Recycling Guide to Arrive in Mailboxes This Month!

North Hempstead, NY –North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, the Town Board and the Town’s Solid Waste Management Authority announced that residents will be receiving a new recycling guide in their mailboxes during the month of April.

The new comprehensive, 21-page guide will detail how to properly discard paper recyclables; metal, glass and plastic recyclables; yard waste; and garbage, rubbish, electronics, household hazardous waste and large items.

“This new guide will help keep residents informed about the correct way of setting out their trash and recyclable,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “The recycling market has changed drastically in recent years and the way we used to recycle five or 10 years ago is outdated. The Town has published this guide to provide residents with information on to properly set out trash and how to correctly separate and set out recyclables. Keep this guide handy for all questions about when and how to recycle.”
