North Hempstead Town Board Condemns Hate Speech Event in Port Washington

North Hempstead, NY – Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena and Town Council Members Robert M. Troiano, Jr., Peter Zuckerman, Dennis Walsh, Veronica Lurvey, David Adhami, and Mariann Dalimonte, together with Town Clerk Ragini Srivastava and Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman, issue a joint statement condemning the recent hate speech event held in Port Washington.

In unison, they declare, "The North Hempstead Town Board vehemently condemns the recent event in Port Washington featuring antisemitic conspiracy theorist Scott McKay. Such rhetoric has no place in our community and runs counter to the values upheld by the 'Not in our Town' program. We stand united against the spread of antisemitism and bigotry perpetuated by the alt-right and QAnon, emphasizing our commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all residents, regardless of their diverse backgrounds, faiths, and cultures."

This collective denouncement underscores the unwavering commitment of North Hempstead's leadership to maintain a community built on respect, tolerance, and diversity. The Town Board remains resolute in its dedication to promoting harmony among all residents, and in actively countering any form of hate speech or discrimination.
