TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD OFFERS MANHASSET BAY MOORING SITES

Port Washington, NY—The Town of North Hempstead is accepting permit applications for its public mooring field in Manhasset Bay.  These permits are available exclusively to North Hempstead residents prior to April 16, with any remaining availability offered to non-residents for a slightly higher fee thereafter.  The fee for residents is $210 for boats up to 26 feet, $315 for boats between 26 and 32 feet, and $400 for boats larger than 32 feet.  The Town also offers space for large boats in its deep draft mooring field, where the $1,400 fee includes mooring and water taxi service.

“These permits give the public a unique opportunity to enjoy sailing on Manhasset Bay at a reasonable rate,” said North Hempstead Councilman Fred L. Pollack.  “We hear nothing but great things about these permits and have actually expanded the public mooring fields this year,” Pollack said.
