Residents Asked to Link Up with the North Hempstead’s ‘Social Network’
Residents Can Receive Free Electronic News Updates

North Hempstead, NY– Aiming to expand the way residents can connect with their local government, Supervisor Jon Kaiman urged residents today to connect to North Hempstead’s online ‘Social Network’.

The Town posts the latest news, alerts, programs, events, as well as audio clips, video clips and photos on a variety of online platforms, giving residents real time access to important and informative information.

“We live in the e-generation and local governments throughout our country should keep up with new trends and find new ways to connect to their constituents,” said Supervisor Jon Kaiman. “We ask all residents to sign up for our free electronic news service, join our Facebook page, watch us on YouTube and even send us a tweet or two.”

Town officials note that North Hempstead’s Facebook page is evolving into a forum where residents can comment on government services, events & programs and share their opinions. They can sign-up at
www.facebook.com/townofnorthhempstead.

Electronic news service is also fast becoming a North Hempstead hit, with over 20,000 subscribers. Residents can sign-up for electronic news at 
www.northhempsteadny.gov and then clicking the “Sign-up for E-News” button.
