Town To Host Annual Polar Plunge This Weekend

Port Washington, NY—Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board invite you to this weekend for the annual Polar Plunge at North Hempstead Beach Park.

“I hope you plunge along with me on Saturday!” Supervisor Jon Kaiman said. “Besides being a great event to socialize with family, friends and neighbors and engage in friendly and fun rivalry, the Annual Polar Plunge gives everyone the opportunity to raise funds for a worthy cause.”

Kicking off with the 9:00 a.m. registration, the Plunge takes place at noon.

The event, which benefits the Special Olympics Foundation, features entertainment from WBAB radio, a Nassau County Police Department display, free snacks and hot beverages, and children’s activities including professional face painting.

In addition to Supervisor Kaiman, participants will also include State Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, Special Olympics athletes, students from local universities and high schools, as well as members of the community.
