COVID-19 Outdoor Accommodations

The Town of North Hempstead is temporarily allowing restaurants and food service establishments an additional way to expand their operations outdoors during the timeframe in which such establishments are subject to reduced interior occupancy or density restrictions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following documents must be submitted and/or complied with prior to a restaurant offering outdoor seating under the COVID-19 accommodation:

Proposed Chapter 70 Local Law with Certification (Outdoor Seating)

Temporary Outdoor Dining Sample Layout 

NYS Business Reopening Safety Plan 

Fire Marshal Bulletin re: Areas Open to the Public

 

Submission of Completed Outdoor Dining Applications

Completed temporary Outdoor Dining permit applications may be submitted to the Building Department in the following manner:

By email at: buildings@northhempsteadny.gov 

By mail addressed to the Building Department at: 210 Plandome Road, Manhasset, New York 11030

In person, by appointment, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Please email buildings@northhempsteadny.gov to schedule an appointment.
