North Hempstead Announces Annual Funday Monday Health Fair

Manhasset, NY
– The Town of North Hempstead is proud to host its most widely attended event of the successful Funday Monday season on Monday, July 29th from 10am to 2pm as the Senior Health Education Fair will take place at North Hempstead Beach Park located at 175 West Shore Road in Port Washington.

This fair provides residents practical assistance in wide-ranging areas of physical, emotional, recreational and financial health, gives attendees the opportunity to participate in a variety of screenings and obtain useful information from professionals such as doctors, nurses, attorneys, and advocates. Residents can also bring their list of medications and ask the pharmacist about the best way to take medications.

The Town has once again partnered with Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink on this event. “Being able to navigate the vast network of health care services available to seniors can be difficult. This event connects seniors directly with those services and engages them in activities that promote their health, while enjoying a day at the beach,” Legislator Wink said.

Exhibitors that are expected to attend include American Red Cross, Nassau County, Assemblyman Chuck Lavine, Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, Delux Transportation, Long Island Cares Harry Chapin Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, N.C Legislator Wayne Wink, NICE- Able Ride, North Shore LIJ- Health System, and various services offered by the Town of North Hempstead including Project Independence, 311 Call Center, Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman, the Animal Shelter and Solid Waste Management Authority.

The rain date for this event is August 1st.

For information about FREE transportation from points throughout the town, call 311.
