North Hempstead, NY –Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board hosted the open-air family music festival, KidStock on Sunday, August 18th at North Hempstead Beach Park. Hundreds of families attended the star-studded event located steps away from the water in Port Washington.

The 3rd Annual KidStock featured musical entertainment from Grammy nominees Brady Rymer and The Milkshake as well as the Bari Koral Family Rock Band. Highlighted performances also included Rock City, an interactive program presented by Bach to Rock that taught young children how to use musical instruments.

For both parents and children alike, quite possibly the most prominent celebrity featured at KidStock was special guest Roscoe Orman, also known as Gordon from “Sesame Street”, who served as the MC for the event.

“North Hempstead’s KidStock is an event that brings families together,” said Supervisor Kaiman. “Both parents and children enjoy attending this festival, as each year we see it continuing to grow. With nationally acclaimed musical entertainment and interactive activities there is something fun for everyone.”

Other activities at the festival included free arts & crafts, face painting, strolling performers from The Big Apple Circus, a 50-foot bounce castle and bounce castle obstacle course, and athletic events like baseball, soccer and relay races provided by Unlimited Sports.

The day came to a close with a beach party hosted DJ Kev Dee and a drive-in movie, featuring the animated family film, “Escape from Planet Earth”.
