North Hempstead Announces First Ever Photo Contest

North Hempstead, NY – Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the North Hempstead Town Board would like to invite residents and photographers from around the Town to enter the 2014 North Hempstead Photography Contest. Winners will be selected and the Top 25 entries will be framed and displayed in Town Hall.

Entries must be in digital format and submitted electronically. Photos can be black & white or color, JPEG, TIFF or PDF with a resolution of at least 2000 pixels and should be sent via email to photos@northhempsteadny.gov. There is no limit to the number of submissions per entrant. The contest, which is now open, ends Monday, September 1, 2014.

“We believe that there’s no more beautiful place to live than the Town of North Hempstead,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “That’s why we would like to encourage you to send us your photos of life in our Town. Photos can include neighborhoods, schools, parks, recreation, friends, family and even pets!”

No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into the contest. While entries must be in digital format and submitted electronically, photographs need not be made with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies or photographic prints are acceptable. For more information, please call 311 or 516-869-6311.
