North Hempstead to Host 4th Annual Trashion Show on Jan. 28
Entries due Jan. 14, 2016

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board are pleased to announce that the Town will once again be hosting the 4th Annual Trashion Show at the “Yes We Can” Community Center on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This year’s event is sponsored by NEFCU and Sustainable Long Island.

Designed to spread the powerful message of Recycle, Reuse and Rethink, the annual contest invites students to create wearable fashion using reclaimed materials. In addition to focusing on the importance of recycling, the Trashion Show showcases our students’ work and creativity. Students are then invited to model their creations on the runway at the Platinum-LEED Certified ‘Yes We Can’ Community Center. In addition to the show, the winning designs will be displayed in the gallery of the center.

If you’d like to participate this year, please submit your entry by 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 14th, 2016 to either the ‘Yes We Can’ Community Center (141 Garden Street, Westbury, NY 11590) or the Town’s Solid Waste Management Authority (802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, NY 11050).

For more information on eligibility, submission requirements, or review criteria, please call 311 or (516) 869-6311.
