Town Hosts Workshop in Partnership with State Attorney General

North Hempstead, NY – Several dozen North Hempstead residents stopped by Town Hall on Wednesday, March 16 as Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board partnered with the office of State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, for a seminar entitled “Know Your Contractor: Know Your Home Improvement Rights.”

The hour-long educational workshop featured a presentation by Richard Yorke, Assistant Attorney General, who educated residents about unscrupulous contractors who, among other things, accept money but fail to complete the job or perform work that is shoddy or negligent. Yorke informed attendees about their rights under New York State’s Home Improvement Laws, and provided critical tips to assist them in selecting a reputable contractor.

The seminar was also hosted in conjunction with the Town’s Building Department. For more information on the Building Department’s educational series, log on to www.northhempsteadny.gov.
