Clinton G. Martin Pool Renovation Progressing on Schedule

Pool on track to open this summer despite winter weather

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth is pleased to announce that the Clinton G. Martin Park Pool renovation project is on schedule and the pool is on track to open June 2018. The groundbreaking for the pool renovation started in June 2017.

The main pool’s foot print is remaining the same, including all swim lanes; infrastructure of the pool and its internal components (pumps filters, etc.) will be replaced and the locker rooms will be renovated. The new design will also include more shade areas, spray features for the kiddie pool; a water slide; and a recreation room.

“As we check in on the progress of the pool, it’s very exciting to see it take shape,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “I am looking forward to watching the continuing progress and of course the completion of the project in time for the 2018 pool season.”

Gramercy Group, the contractor working on the project, has completed the demolition of existing infrastructure and building components; the installation of new electrical conduits, utilities and infrastructure; site lighting and tennis court lighting; the installation of pool structures (slide basin, wading pool, and spray pad); retaining walls, planter beds, roof trusses for north building; and sheathing for the roofs at north and south buildings.

In the coming weeks Gramercy Group will be focusing on interior work at north and south buildings, along with pool mechanical room. Interior work includes, but is not limited to framing, carpentry, pulling electrical wire, pool work in basement, HVAC and more.
