North Hempstead & Port Washington Community Chest to Host Annual Manhasset Bay

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Community

Chest of Port Washington are proud to host the annual Manhasset Bay Kayak Run on Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m.  Participants will launch from the North Hempstead Town Dock in Port Washington at the sound of cannon fire, then will proceed for a leisurely paddle around the bay. The event is a fundraiser for the Community Chest of Port Washington, which serves those in need in the Port Washington community.

Participants may choose whether they would like to compete with kayaks, paddle boards or

canoes. Kayak rentals are available to those who do not own their own kayak for discounted rates at Atlantic Outfitters, 405 Main St., and Koastal Paddle, 158 Manorhaven Blvd.

A raffle drawing will be held at the finish line of the event at Town Dock.  The top raffle prize is a brand new kayak.

Entry fee for adults over 20 years of age is $25; $45 if paid on July 20. Young adults and children pay $10, $25 if paid on July 20. Visit www.portchest.org to register and pay online.
