DONALD STREET PARK RENOVATIONS COMPLETED
GRAND REOPENING
(Roslyn Heights, NY) – North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Town Councilman Tom Dwyer today announced that extensive renovations at Donald Street Park had been completed, and joined the community for a fun filled Grand Re-Opening.
“I’m pleased so many residents of this community joined with us at the ribbon cutting ceremony, we recently-held, marking the re-opening of Donald Street Park,” Kaiman said. “The residents will now enjoy state-of-the-art, better lighted and fenced in facilities for their recreation.”
Councilman Dwyer added: “This project is part of an extensive program intended to enhance and improve neighborhood parks with equipment, programs and amenities chosen by the community. This is a great day for the families who live in this community.”
Renovations completed at the park included improved drainage, surface regarding, the laying down of new sidewalks, the installation of new benches, resurfacing of the handball courts, new basketball poles and netting, new drinking fountains, additional trash receptacles and a water spray area.
Former Town Board member Wayne Wink, now a member of the County Legislature, also attended the recent ribbon cutting event.
