Supervisor Bosworth Re-Elected For Fourth Term with 67% of vote

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth was re-elected on November 6 to her fourth, two-year term with 21, 896 votes, or a 67% margin of victory over her opponent.

“I am honored to have the confidence of the residents here in North Hempstead and to be given the opportunity to represent them once again,” says Bosworth. “I will continue to tackle difficult challenges, to improve the quality of life and to set an environmentally conscious course for the future of our Town. I believe that by all of us working together we can achieve great things.”

Supervisor Bosworth first took office in 2014, as the 37th Supervisor of the Town North Hempstead.

In the coming months the Supervisor will be focusing on the Town’s Five Year Capital Plan that funds improvements to infrastructure; the opening of the one-mile extension of the Hempstead Harbor Trail; the ribbon-cutting on 77 affordable senior housing units at Grand Street in New Cassel; and also fine-tuning an all-encompassing Cultural Master Plan that will highlight the Town’s arts, culture, restaurants and commerce offerings. In 2020 the Town will be migrating many of its departments to a new software system called Citizen Serve, a modern, intuitive, complete customer care system that will provide online services to residents.

Under Bosworth’s leadership and conservative fiscal budgeting, the Town’s finances have been graded Aaa by Moody’s Investors Service, five consecutive This is the highest rating attainable by a municipality. During her tenure the Town’s debt has been reduced by $31.4 million since 2014.

This past year, Bosworth cut the ribbon on the Town’s first dog park at Michael J. Tully Park; expanded the Town’s Northern Bobwhite Quail program to combat ticks; and brought in the Northport VA Medical Center’s mobile medical unit to help serve our Town’s veterans.

Town Council Members Peter Zuckerman, Veronica Lurvey and Tax Receiver Charles Berman, were also re-elected. Supervisor Bosworth will begin her fourth full-term as Supervisor on January 1, 2020. The official swearing in ceremony will take place on January 5, 2020 at Clinton G. Martin Park.
