Town Promotes Nassau County Personal Protective Equipment Donation DriveResidents can donate mask, gloves to health care workers
North Hempstead, NY - Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board remind residents that donations of medical supplies including personal protective equipment (PPE) can be made to help address the critical shortage on Long Island.
“As the number of coronavirus cases has increased, there are so many alarming stories about the shortages of personal protective equipment for our medical professionals,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “On Long Island, and throughout the country, hospitals are facing shortages of face masks, disposable medical gowns, antibacterial wipes, and more. We are encouraging those with a surplus in these supplies to donate them to support our healthcare workers.”
Requested items for Nassau County's PPE donation drive include:
- N-95 and surgical masks (in unopened containers/boxes)
- Eye protection, such as goggles and face shields
- Antibacterial and disinfectant wipes (unopened)
- Disposable Medical Gowns (paper fluid resistant or plastic)
- Hand sanitizer
- Nitrile gloves (new, in unopened box, not expired)
- Shoe covers
- No-touch thermometers
- Thermometer probe covers
- HEPA Filters for Ventilators/Anesthesia Machines
Residents can drop off items at the Public Safety Building in Eisenhower Park (Parking Field 3) at 1899 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, NY 11554. Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., until Friday, April 3.
