North Hempstead Broadcasts Native Plant Gardening Workshop
Workshop to be aired online and on North Hempstead TV

North Hempstead, NY - North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board are proud to announce the Town’s Native Plant Gardening class will be broadcast on North Hempstead TV (NHTV), the Town’s government access TV station and online.

Residents will be able to watch the programs on channel 18 or 63 on Cablevision and channel 46 on Verizon FIOS or by visiting www.mynhtv.com.

“We wanted to make sure that people would be able to attend these informative classes while social distancing and remaining safe,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “These valuable classes provide a wealth of information concerning native plant gardens and how they contribute to making a more sustainable habitat for wildlife while helping our environment and ecosystem.”

The Native Plant Gardening class instructs attendees on how to utilize native plants in their own landscapes. Native plants have historically occurred on Long Island and are adapted to its weather and climate. Therefore, these plants help to conserve water, reduce fertilizers and pesticides and provide food and habitat for native wildlife.
