Add Some Love to Your Home by Adopting a Dog from the Town’s Animal Shelter

North Hempstead, NY - North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board send a reminder that the Town’s animal shelter is open and has dogs up for adoption. Appointments to visit the shelter can be made by calling 311. All visitors must adhere to proper social distancing guidelines and wear a mask. Featured pups include Diego and Napoleon: Diego is one of the longest residents at the shelter, coming in as a stray in 2014, but he doesn't let that get him down! Diego is a happy, dapper gentleman that loves to go for walks and chase the ball, but he also likes to snuggle up for some petting. Diego loves all people he meets but would have to be the only pet in the house.

Napoleon is a sweet and easy-going senior boy, wants nothing but to spend his golden years in the sun next to his forever companion. Napoleon originally came to the shelter as a stray in 2015 and quickly stole all of our hearts, he was adopted and placed with a loving home. Sadly, his owner passed away early this year and he was returned to the shelter’s care. Napoleon is friendly with all people he meets but would like to be the only pet in the home.
