North Hempstead Lifts Port Washington Street Meter Parking Restrictions for Holiday Season

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Council Member Mariann Dalimonte remind residents that parking fees for shoppers in Port Washington have been suspended this holiday season. This initiative is being co-sponsored by the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce.

“Our local business communities play an integral role in making the Town of North Hempstead a unique and wonderful place to live,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “This holiday season, we are temporarily suspending parking fees in Port Washington to help encourage residents to support our local shops and restaurants. The Town will continue working with our chambers of commerce to assist small business owners who are still feeling the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic."

“Port Washington is such a magical place, especially during the holiday season,” said Council Member Mariann Dalimonte. “Supporting local businesses can make a positive impact on the community as a whole. This includes creating jobs, helping local organizations, and of course supporting the business owners that make Port Washington so amazing.”

The meters will be suspended from Saturday, November 27, 2021 through Saturday, January 1, 2022. Motorists must still comply with the posted time limitations. Metered parking will be suspended on the following Port Washington roads:

Port Washington Boulevard - Mertz Place to Campus Drive & Bogart Avenue to Concord Road
Main Street - Port Washington Boulevard to Third Avenue
Irma Avenue, S. Maryland Avenue and Carlton Avenue
Haven Avenue from Main Street to Franklin Avenue
