North Hempstead Hosts Artist’s Passport Workshop for Children at Tully Park

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena and the Town Board are proud to join with the Crayola Imagine Arts Academy of Long Island to offer the Artist’s Passport Travel the World Through Art workshop at Michael J. Tully Park this Spring.

The classes will allow children to embark on an around-the-world cultural adventure. Children can explore far-off places and learn about the people who live there, from the Americas to the Ivory Coast, from the cosmopolitan to the countryside. The six-week workshop will focus on creating a different craft each week, including a dot art canvas, a miniature Pakistani bus, a mud art painting on fabric, and an imperial Russian egg. Participants will be able to bring their unique creations home and build a globally-inspired art gallery.

Advance registration is required. Classes will be held on Saturday, March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2 and 9 and are designed for children in Grades 1-5. There will be two 60-minute sessions. Session 1 is held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and session 2 will be held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost of the program is $160 and will include all materials.
