North Hempstead Pre-Treats Roads for Winter Storm
Residents Urged to call 311 for Snow-Related Assistance
New Hyde Park, NY—North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman joined with Highways Superintendent Tom Tiernan to deploy the town’s snow fleet this morning to pre-treat roads in preparation for today’s arriving snow storm. The town has dispatched over ten ‘Epoche’ Trucks, which are specially designed to pre-treat steep-hills and other potentially dangerous areas with liquid salt-brine. In addition the town has deployed over 30 sanders.
“Right now,” Supervisor Kaiman said early this morning from the Town’s Highway yard on Denton Avenue, New Hyde Park, “It is all about pre-treatment. We want to make sure that when the snow hits, our roads are as safe as possible.”
Supervisor Kaiman urged residents to call 311 for any snow-related assistance throughout the town, such as fallen tree limbs and hazardous snow drifts.
