Arbor Day in Westbury

Supervisor Kaiman and Assemblywoman Ferrara Encourage Area Business Owners to Support the Environment

Westbury, NY – North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Assemblywoman Donna Ferrara helped plant a tree for Arbor Day outside the Harvest Diner Restaurant on Old Country Road in Westbury.  The event was meant to encourage area business owners and residents to help protect the environment.

Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care.   Founded by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska in 1872, National Arbor Day is celebrated each year on the last Friday in April.
