North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Announces 2024 Assessment Grievance Workshop Schedule

North Hempstead, NY – The Town of North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Mary Jo Collins is pleased to announce the 2024 schedule for Assessment Grievance Workshops.

During the month of January, the Nassau County Department of Assessment sends out a Notice of Tentative Assessment for your property. These values will be used to determine the 2025/2026 school tax bills and the 2026 General tax bills.

If you disagree with this tentative assessment, you may file a grievance with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission. The grievance can be filed from January 2, 2024, through March 1, 2024.

Join us at one of the following seminars, for a presentation on understanding your assessed value, and the procedure to grieve. The Receiver of Taxes and members of her staff will be available to answer questions after the presentation.
