North Hempstead, NY—Reinforcing the administration’s commitment to support North Hempstead’s seniors, Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Receiver Charles Berman traveled visited Mineola Village Hall this past week to deliver a $1,000 check to the AARP Mineola Chapter #4202.
In addition to the wealth of services for senior citizens available through the Department of Services for Aging and the Department of Community Services, the Town of North Hempstead also provides funding to various Town groups and agencies which offer educational, recreational, and nutritional senior programs.
Both Supervisor Kaiman and Receiver of Taxes Berman reminded the audience that the Town will remain a strong partner with the Mineola community for years to come.
“We’re here today because we understand the importance that AARP plays in the lives of our seniors,” Supervisor Jon Kaiman said “We have a solemn obligation to ensure that organizations that play an active role in our community have the necessary resources to operate and succeed.”
