North Hempstead's Project Independence Partners with North Shore/LIJ Health System to Offer Free Influenza Shots
North Hempstead, NY— North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the Town Council, in partnership with North Shore/LIJ Health System, are making seasonal flu vaccine available free of charge to all North Hempstead residents age 60 or older.
The program is scheduled to operate at five locations across the Town. Any Town residents over age 60 may get the flu shots at any Town location, but they MUST register in advance by calling 311 or 869-6311, to assure that enough vaccine is available at each location.
Nurses from Project Independence, all of whom are associated with North Shore/LIJ, will be available at each location to take medical information and administer the vaccine:
Westbury: Thursday, October 20th – 10 am to 1 pm
Magnolia Gardens Residences Community Room

Port Washington: Friday October 21st – 10 am to 1 pm
Port Washington Community Center
80 Manorhaven Boulevard, Port Washington
Great Neck: Wednesday, October 26th – 12 noon to 3 pm
