2012 General Taxes Due
Charles Berman, North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes, alerts property owners that his office has mailed out the 2012 General Tax bills. All property owners – except those whose taxes are paid through a mortgage escrow account - should have received a General Tax bill.
Any property owner who has not received a bill should contact the Receiver of Taxes Office by calling the Town’s “311” Call Center. Property owners should also notify the Tax Office in writing if they have purchased or sold property, satisfied their mortgage, changed their billing address, or refinanced to a non-escrow mortgage.
First-half General Taxes are payable without penalty through Feburary 10, 2012. Mailed payments must be postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service on or before February 10 to avoid penalty.
Taxes may be paid in person at the Receiver of Taxes Office at 200 Plandome Road in Manhasset. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4:45 pm. Taxes may also be paid online by credit card or check (ACH) at the Receiver of Taxes’ webpage at: www.northhempsteadny.gov/taxes.
Taxpayers may contact the Town’s “311” call center or the Tax Office at 869-7800 for additional information or log on to the Town’s website at: www.northhempsteadny.gov.
