GOVERNOR CUOMO APPROVES TOWN’S REQUEST TO EXTEND FIRST-HALF SCHOOL TAX PAYMENT
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 4, 2012
North Hempstead, NY– Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Receiver Charles Berman recently announced that New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo approved the Town’s request to extend the first-half School Tax deadline from November 13, 2012 to December 4, 2012. The executive order was signed on November 9, 2012. An additional executive order, which included all North Hempstead School Districts, was signed November 13, 2012.
“We thank Governor Cuomo as well as all our School Districts for their understanding of the realities on the ground in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and Nor’Easter Athena,” said Receiver Berman. “Extending the deadline is a welcome relief for many families in North Hempstead who were forced to switch priorities as a result of the devastation.”
Town officials also reminded residents of the following amended penalty schedules:
